PS3 Need for Speed most wanted 2012 start button not working

Hi there,

I just bought my son a copy of Need for Speed 2012 Most Wanted for PS3 (like new from Amazon). The disc does not seem to be scratched.

I loaded it up on the PS3, but it seems to be stuck at the Press Start Button screen.

I press the start button both on the Move controller and on the regular wired controller and nothing happens.

Tried pressing all the other buttons as well, but nothing happens. It just seems to be stuck at that screen, but it is not frozen (the background animation is still flowing).

Any idea why the Start button wont click?
